Responding to the necessity of University students at EFL learning (Demonstrate their abilities and skills in the target language) and aware of the different possibilities for the learning of this one, we present this text hoping to correspond to the linguistic and communicative processes that come with the study of a language. The main goal is to develop the skills that lead the individual towards the use of the language that is being learned, we have developed a workshop that will lead the student and will demand of this one the use of it to the processes of comprehension and expression which are implicit in each one of the strategies presented to develop both in and out of class, exercises and homeworks that lead to the interaction of the one who is learning, with the text, with its peers and with the environment in which this one develops professionally and personally, and to the continuous demonstration of the development of his communicative skills through the adequate use of the language that is being studied. It is relevant to highlight the importance of the text in the learning process of a new language, for this suggest the continuous use of instructions and directing towards communication; besides, we must consider "the text as a sequence of spoken or written speech relative to a specific environment and which during the performance of a task constitutes thee axis of a language activity, either as a backup or as a goal, either as a product or as a process".This way we expected to contribute to a development of the communicative skills and to facilitate the learning processes of the foreign languages (English) and the University environment, in order to achieve the necessary competences in the acquisition of specific knowledge in its different fields and for the good future development of the professionals of university Santiago de Cali in society. This way we expected to contribute to a development of the communicative skills and to facilitate the learning processes of the foreign languages (English) and the University environment, in order to achieve the necessary competences in the acquisition of specific knowledge in its different fields and for the good future development of the professionals of university Santiago de Cali in society.
